Term 2 : Week 9 - Timing & Spacing

So this weeks lecture was from Brett Parker - (animator at Pixar) about timing and spacing. We went over what timing was - concluding that timing was a phrasing of movement like music and is controlled by where you place the key poses. We went over what affects timing which are physics e.g weight, internal and external forces so mind or thought and the body e.g. muscles or physical things, momentum and animation style.

We then looked at spacing and how to control the drawings inbetween the key poses. The spacing shows acceleration and deceleration. We need to create a nice smooth line of action and eliminate any 'pops' in the motion as they are distracting.

My assignment was to take on board my critique from last week, work on the shot and hand it in again for marking. Here's the hand in:
